International Cooperation

The strategic goal of the Faculty is an active participation in the European Research Area (ERA) and in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), a systematic and organized implementation of lifelong learning programmes and mobility programmes for students and teaching staff.  The International Cooperation Strategy of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology and the effort to integrate into the European flows of educational, scientific and research activities comply with the guidelines and strategic documents of the University of Zagreb.

The Office for International and Inter-Institutional Cooperation that was founded with a view to increasing students’ and teachers’ mobility and to improving international cooperation, carries out professional and administrative duties related to international cooperation of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, and it primarily monitors and provides information about the possibilities of participating in international exchange programmes and international scientific projects, as well as creates the conditions for a transparent participation of all employees and students of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology in international cooperation.

The current modalities of international cooperation of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology can be seen through the applications of international scientific projects, bilateral agreements with foreign universities and faculties, mobility of students and employees, organisation of international consultations.

 


The Faculty is involved in several international scientific and higher education associations in the fields of forestry and wood technology, among which the most significant are: 

IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organisations),

COST Domain Committee Forest products and services,

FORMEC (Forestry mechanization),

Innova Wood,

WOODEMA,

Pro Silva Europa,

Silva network and

EFI (European Forest Institute).

The Faculty has a series of bilateral agreements and Erasmus+ bilateral agreements and it takes part in CEEPUS Program as well that offers students the opportunity of study and vocational trainings abroad, as well as a variety of teaching and non-teaching staff mobility programmes.

 


A project financed from European Union funds is being implemented.
